Welcome to the Food Smart Science Web site. Food Smarts has become Food Smart Science, Food Smarts formerly VH Enterprises, is a consulting group which specializes in the general area of new food product development. Since 1986, we have been successfully helping clients.  Helen McHargue, President and founder emeritus,  educated at the University of Manitoba and Shari Lakes Carter studied at Cal Poly Pomona and Chapman University, their Degrees in Food Science and Nutrition. Helen has retired to Fallbrook California as an avocado rancher but she remains an advocate for the food industry and her flavor expertise lives on in  "Flavor School".

Food Smarts works closely with companies to help them with forward thinking, efficiency and profitability in their businesses.
We are located in Southern California and have a network of other experienced consultants in the areas of marketing, research and packaging with whom we collaborate as needed.
